South Sudan U-20 signs for FC in Uganda

Uganda Football Club Vipers FC has signed South Sudan International U-20 rightful back Dhata Joseph
Stephen on a four years professional contract starting from 1 st October 2020.The youthful right back
agreed terms with Vipers after receiving his International Transfer Certificate (ITC) from South Sudan
Football Association.
According to statement released on the official club website, Vipers head Coach Mr. Fred Kajoba
described Joseph hard working, fearless and talented player.
“He is humble, hardworking, determined and most importantly young. We are happy to have him and
believe many out there will like what he offers,”Dhata is also feeling so happy to join the venoms as he
looks forward to winning games and silverware with the team. I am very happy about this day as it has
offered me a new step forward” said Kajobs
Vipers already have same South Sudanese players in their squad in the names of Ahmed Amayo and
Rashid Toha thus Dhata Joseph third South Sudanese player in the list, Joseph said with the high
competition at the club will make him fight for spot in the squad.
“I am home. All my friends are here. So everything is well. However, I know what is expected of
me. The competition for numbers at Vipers is what motivates me more, .The important thing is
to grab this chance and use it wisely to build my career and also help my team to win games and
silverware” he said.
Dhata Joseph Stephen was part of Buddo Secondary School in 2019 that won the National Post Primary
Championship and the East Africa Secondary School Football Tournament in 2018.
He also played for South Sudan national team U-20 squad that took part in the 2019 Council of East
Central Africa Football Association U-20 competition held in Uganda Towns of Jinja and Gulu. He was
on the tournament scoring a goal for South Sudan in the 3-0 win against Somalia in Njeru but later South
Sudan was eliminated by Sudan in 1-0 loss.
