Armed Men Attacked Torit Local Football Association Officials

Last week a group of unidentified armed men attacked a vehicle belonging to Torit local Football Association (TLFA) travelling to Juba injuring the driver, The incident happened near Khor – Dulep about twenty kilometers (20km) from Torit town.

The secretary General of TLFA, Mr. Oting Martain who managed to escape the attack unhurt confirmed the incident and said the armed men shot into air before turning the gun driver to the driver after he was stopped.
“Our Vehicle was attacked by three armed near Khor Dulep, they first two bullets in the air but when our driver insisted driving, they decided shot directly at us and injuring the driver on the leg” said Martin.
Meanwhile, the spokesperson of South Sudan Football Association, Mr. Alul Daniel said those who got involved in the attacked are the president of TLFA, Secretary General, Chairperson of Women Football and Hon. Aburuman Okilek Board Member of SSFA.
He also confirmed that Okliek was the driver sustained same injuries on his leg and has under gone surgical operations at Freedom Juba in Juba.
“Their driver (Aburuman Okilek) got serious injuries and broke his leg which requires same operations at freedom hospital after which he will be transferred to Chinese Hosiptal for further attention. But the other 3 officials are unhurt” Dainel said.

The other officials who survived the ambush without any injuries include TLFA president Juma Joe Adriano, TLFA secretary-general Martin Oting and the Umjuma Marrie, the chairperson for the women committee.
