Sponsored by African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) with collaboration with the African Union and hosted by the Arab Republic of Egypt; A seven-day Intra African Trade Fair 2018 kicked off in Cairo on Tuesday with a lot of dignitaries from around the world attending; among them is the former Nigerian President, H. E. Olusegun Mathew Okikiola Aremu Obasanjo, the Chairman of the IATF Advisory Council who said at the opening ceremony that Intra-African Trade Fair will really help propel and drive trade within the African continent.
The Undersecretary in the Ministry of Trade and East Africa Affairs, Hon. Agak Acuil who led the South Sudan delegation said “We came here with a delegation from South Sudan, we have small business people who are exhibiting their products”.
This is a very good chance for South Sudan to promote their products, we came in also to give them support, to make sure that these small companies may get some people to invest in their products and also to get market for the products which are produced in South Sudan.
This is a very good occasion, we came also to encourage investments in South Sudan, and also to tell those who wants to invest in South Sudan that there is peace in the country, that they are welcome to invest in a lot of things, such as Agro Business, Mining, Industry, Crude Oil and others. So, there is a lot to be done in South Sudan.
We also thank the government Egypt for giving us this opportunity. Since Egypt is a land of civilization, we need to grow along with Egypt and other African countries.The Undersecretary also said “It is a chance to come here to promote our products, to promote our companies and to promote South Sudan for investments”.
South Sudan pavilion at the exhibition center highlights a raft of dynamic investment opportunities within the agricultural, forestry, mining and tourism sectors, just to name a few. The pavilion also focuses on opportunities to tap into the country’s petroleum sector and work in partnership with companies such as Trinity Petroleum (A South Sudanese Oil Marketing Company) and others in the country.
Trinity Energy which is one the main sponsors of Intra African Trade Fair 2018 (IATF) is a South Sudanese Oil Marketing Company specializing in distribution of petroleum products and carbon energy, the company is also a leading importer of petroleum products and supplies to the retailers all over South Sudan that includes government institutions, such as Nile Petroleum Corporation (Nilepet), International Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), telecommunication operators and others.
South Sudan exhibitors showcased a variety of Made In South Sudan High-Quality Products at the pavilion which attracted exhibitors from other countries who picked interest to invest and do business in South Sudan.
